NW Missouri Bird Crawl

Join Burroughs Audubon and special guest, Chris G. Earley, as we visit various wetland locations around the northwestern portion of the state of Missouri. We\\\'ll be looking for migrating waterfowl, waders and songbirds. Wetlands once occupied more than 2.5 million acres of alluvial bottomlands along Missouri\\\'s river systems. Today, probably less than 50,000 acres remain, and more is lost each year. Protection and restoration of remaining wetlands are primary goals of Missouri\\\'s Department of Conservation and non-government conservation-focused groups like Burroughs Audubon.

Celebrando el Dia Mundial de las Aves Migratorias

In saturday 8th, GAP members will guide visitors to La Poza de Arenilla Wetland, where they will show which migrant birds can be seen there. In Monday 10th GAP´s president, Oscar Gonzalez, will address a conference entitled: \\\"Migrant birds: messengers of life\\\" in the Instituto Nacional de Recursos Naturales. In Thursday 13, there will be a guided tour to the wetlands of Puerto viejo, to recognize migrant birds and teach monitoring techniches

Birdwatching Walk to look for Coastal Migrants

A guided coastal walk to show people migrant bird species such as Wheatears, Swallows, Sand Martins and Sandwich Terns as they arrive, as well as to give them a last chance to see some of Ireland\\\\\\\'s migrant wintering wildfowl, such as Brent Geese and Wigeon, before they leave for their breeding grounds. The walk will start at Kilcoole Train Station car park, next to the BirdWatch Ireland reserve, at 10:30am and will last for approx. 2 hours.

Kestrel Watch in South Africa

Birders and volunteers of the Migrating Kestrel Project across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe will be recording any sightings of Lesser Kestrels, Amur Falcons or Redfooted Falcons over the weekend. All sightings and activities will be reported to the co-ordinator of the Migrating Kestrel project, Anthony van Zyl. The results will be published on the kestreling.com web site.
Sightings will give us an idea of how many kestrels still remain in Southern Africa.

Teachers and Media People Awareness Workshop on World Migratory Birds

7.30: Morning Birdwalk at the Ponds in the University of Dar es Salaam.

Educational Programme on Migratory Birds for Students

NCF intends to host an educational programme with the theme “migratory birds need our attention now”. Our target audience would be students, we also intend to reach the public by news articles in Nigerian dailies. The educational would include a presentation on the theme. And afterward a guided bird watch in NCFs’ nature reserve
