Birdwatching

A group of non-specialist people, guided by an expert ornithologist, will have a birdwatching trip around Po Delta Park (NE Italy) with the goal to check the exceptional bird diversity of coastal wetlands. Normally about 100 species are checked in a 6-hours trip, some years even some more. This year we will take attention on wires and other obstacles that may represent threats for bird conservation.

Banyumas, a regency in Central Java Province, Indonesia, is a destination for hundreds of migratory birds every year. They use areas of forest  in Banyumas for roosting while they migrate to tropical areas. Unfortunately, the conservation of migratory birds has to compete for attention with other issues.

WMBD is a strategic opoprtunity for raising awareness of the importance of saving forests as the home of thousands of wild animals, including migratory birds.

Wildlife Science and Conservation Center of Mongolia, Mongolian Bird Watching Club and Environmnetal Department of Oyu Tolgoi LLC will organize this year's event through giving speeches on what migratory birds are and threats to them in terms of emerging energy needs during their long distance migration as well as breeding and wintering grounds. We will also hold a Birdwatching session with the participants to raise their knowledge on birds in one of the importanty wetlands near capital city Ulaanbaatar.  

Balochistan Conservation Society (BCS) is going to participate in Word Migratory Bird Day again this year. In this regard  we are going to organize a bird-watching event at Hazarganji National Park Quetta Balochsitan on 9th May 2015.

„Energie vogelfreundlich gestalten“

Zu diesem Motto und zu dem Thema Zugvögel finden am 09. und 10. Mai 2015 zwei besondere Veranstaltungen auf Langeoog statt.

Insel-Rallye 

Touren für Groß und Klein rund um das Thema Zugvögel. Die Rallye führt die Teilnehmer über die Insel. Das Zusammenspiel von Zugvogel und Tourismus auf Langeoog werden erkundet. Die Insel-Rallye wird in zwei Schwierigkeitsgraden angeboten:

Der NABU Großfahner wird im größten Feuchtgebiet des SPA Nr. 16 "Ackerhügelland westlich von Erfurt" eine Vogelstimmen-Exkursion sowie zwei Beobachtungspunkte am Speicher Dachwig am Sonnabend, den 9. Mai 2015, einrichten. Bereits 6.30 Uhr beginnt die Vogelstimmen-Exkursion an der Pension "Zum Alten Hauptmann" unter der Leitung von Andreas Fleischmann. Ab 8.00 Uhr sind dann am Rande der ausgedehnten Schilfbestände und Wasserfläche zwei Beobachtungsstände eingerichtet, auf denen die Besucher neueste Spektive von Zeiss, Leica und Swarovski unter realen Bedingungen im Gelände testen können.

The activity that we will perform is in a National Park in Colombia (PARQUE NACIONAL NEVADO DEL HUILA). In the indigenous communities the provided material will support learning activities and underpin the importance of the park's ecosystem and habitat of present migratory species. It will help to understand the patterns of migration and shaping records based on observations on field trips to areas of forests. We will conduct workshops, birdwatching, drawing birds and recordings of bird songs.
