World Migratory Bird Day Walks at Prairie du Chien & Effigy Mounds

Bird walks at two local birding areas on the Saturday, May 12.  One bird walk is at La Riviere Park in Prairie du Chien at 8 a.m. and the other is at Effigy Mounds National Monument north of Marquette, Ia at 10 a.m.  

Bald Eagle Appreciation Day

Bald Eagle Appreciation Day is a celebration of the Bald Eagle.  Bald Eagles winter in the Prairie du Chien, Wi area along the Mississippi River between Iowa and Wisconsin. Some early migrants will also be in the Prairie du Chien area during the event.  The event involves live bird presentations, educational talks on the Bald Eagle, and directions to areas where Bald Eagles can be seen.  Friday night programs include two presentations. Saturday programs are all day long and include several live bird presentations.  

World Migratory Bird Day with Outreach For Earth Stewardship

Outreach For Earth Stewardship invites you to join them at Shelburne Farms for a morning bird walk for birders of all levels (7am, ages 10+). Also, enjoy visits with OFES live raptor ambassadors (10am - 12 pm).

Promotion as a tool of protection-"Their Future Is Our Future"

Tarlan ornithological society in cooperation with Tehran Municipality celebrated the World Migratory Bird Day, on 10 May 2017 . These days Chitgar birdwatching site situated on the lake of  Martyrs of  Persian Gulf zone (which is also known as Chitgar Lake) hosts a number of migratory birds such as Barn Swallow, Terns, Shrikes, European Bee-eater etc which were observed by our participants, including Ivan family, who are known by their “Iran is great” project.

CIEDM Climate Actions on World Migratory Bird Day 2017

Birds are experiencing impacts of climate change. This past weekend, 13-14 May 2017, is the time to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) 2017. With the 2017 theme "Their Future is our Future", WMBD throws light on the topic of "Sustainable Development for Wildlife and People", as migratory birds and other species share the same planet and thus the same limited resources with human beings. The 2017 campaign aims at raising awareness on the need for a sustainable management of our natural resources, demonstrating that birds conservation is also crucial for the future of humankind.

Education on The World Migratory Bird Day in Kosovo

As usual NGO "FINCH" organized this annual event in Kosovo too. 

It organized it first to the Lake of Brezne and then climbed up at the camp of Limth in Dragashi Municipality where we think is the best bird place in Kosovo, one can find different species of birds and their habitat.

In order to celebrate the world migratory bird day we arranged a birdwatching event and make a list of the bird that we watched, this celebration was arranged for casa wayuu AC and environmental organisation that is promoting the birdwatching culture in Holbox and Solferino, casa Wayuu is Also a  center of learning for the conservation of the environment.

 

Stork day festival

Primary school „ Strasho Pindjur “ Chesinovo and the municipality of Cheshinovo-Obleshevo are orginizing the Stork day festival 2017 for the fifth time, since the municipality received the European Stork village award in 2013. Cheshinovo-Obleshevo has one of the largest populations of White Storks, with over 70 nests built on roofs and electrical pylons. The friendly attitude of the locals to the storks was also one of the main reasons why this municipality received the award.
