Arkansas River "Birdwalk"

Particpants will look for and identify migratory and resident bird species along the Arkansas Riverwalk in Canon City, Colorado.  The U.S. Forest Service is sponsoring the event and will assist participants in locating, viewing, and identifying birds in the area.  The Forest Service staff will also convey to particpants the importance of conserving migratory birds and their habitat as well as answer questions that particpants may have regarding migratory and resident birds and thier habitat.

2018 World Migratory Bird Day at Armand Bayou Nature Center

Environment for the Americas coordinates WMBD in the Americas to increase awareness and motivate conservation of the migratory birds we share across borders. It is a celebration of one of the most important and spectacular events in the life of a migratory bird -its journey between breeding and non-breeding grounds. The program was created by Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center to focus public attention on the need for action to conserve birds and their habitats.

Migratory Bird Day at Clark County Wetlands Park

Clark County Wetlands Park hosts its 5th Annual Migratory Bird Day with birding walks, Discovery Stations, activities, crafts and more. A free, family-friendly event at the Wetlands Park Nature Center. Partners include the Las Vegas Wash Coordination Committee, Red Rock Audubon Society, Bureau of Reclamation Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program, Nevada Department of Wildlife, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Get Outdoors Nevada, Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, the Nevada Dept. of Transportation, and Las Vegas-Clark County Libraries

World Migratory Bird Day 2018 "Unifying our Voices for Bird Conservation" with HIMPUS

     We, UKM HIMPUS - student representation of Veterinary Faculty of Syiah Kuala University, will carry out our second organized event to spread the word about WMBD. In 2015, UKM HIMPUS participated in a WMBD event organized by Aceh Birder. In 2016 - 2017 UKM HIMPUS continued WMBD celebrations as an organizer. So, this year we would like to continue our engagement in WMBD celebrations.

The series of activities that we propose starting in April 30th and then May 13th, 2018 as the peak of the celebration, namely:

BirdLife Iceland, The Icelandic Institute of Natural History, The South Iceland Research Centre of University of Iceland and Katla UNESCO Global Geopark will jointly host a birdwatching and an educational event on May 12th.

World Migratory Bird Day at River Point Bird Observatory

World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated annually at River Point Conservation Area, where BRI, our partners, and the community join together in a celebration of migratory birds. This event takes place early May and features a day filled with fun and activities such as bird walks, nature walks, and the unique opportunity to see research in action through bird banding demonstrations. Get up with the Birds! By Nature Conservancy of Canada

Join bird experts and staff from the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Learn tips on how to identify birds by sound and sight. Bring your binoculars and field guides.   Registration required, to do so please visit www.york.ca/forestevents or call 1-877-464-9675. Registration begins on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.  Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Clallam County Birdathon

Go birding anywhere in Clallam County on May 12, 2018!  No matter where you live or visit in Clallam County, you can help out. Either enter your bird data in eBird or use the tally sheets provided on the Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society website under "News," then "Harlequin Happenings." The event also helps raise funds for OPAS programs throughout the year, through sponsorships for the count. Clallam County holds the record for the most number of species seen in one Washington county in one day, 202 species seen on this Birdathon in 2012.
