World Migratory Bird Day in Fond du Lac

World Migratory Bird Day is officially coming up on May 12th, but Fond du Lac is getting an early start on the celebration.

Fond du Lac was named one of Wisconsin’s “Bird Cities” in 2012, and Laura DeGolier says “we have to put on a celebration that reminds people of the value of birds, encourage people to plant bird habitat…and we do it at this time of the year, because that’s when the birds are moving.”

Birdwatching tour in the Kottensforst

On Saturday the 12th May, from 9am to 12am you will have the opportunity to look for a range of migratory birds during a guided birdwatching tour led by a NABU expert who will give you all the information about the species currently staying in Bonn.

To participate, please register with Andreas Kepper (0228253869)

World Migratory Bird Day at Frick Environmental Center

Birds know no borders. Many of the species that sing to us all summer have winter homes farther south in Central or South America. Some birds just pass through, and some settle in for the summer. Whatever their destination, May is a time of year where we can see many species in our parks.  World Migratory Bird Day is a celebration of the diversity of birds that live among us, and a reminder of our ability to protect these animals as they travel extraordinary distances each year.
