These days Chitgar birdwatching site situated on the lake of Martyrs of Persian Gulf zone (which is also known as Chitgar Lake) hosts a number of migratory birds such as Barn Swallow, Terns, Shrikes, European Bee-eater etc which were observed by our participants, including Ivan family, who are known by their “Iran is great” project. During the event series of activities were done, including: birdwatching, educational program and some other promotional activities. Also during visiting the site by municipal authorities, they were informed about the role and importance of such international programs in raising public awareness and attracting active public participation for the conservation of migratory birds pointing to this fact that “Their future is our future”.
Iran as a country with various climate and habitat types including 24 major international wetland and 105 IBM is one of the main migration routes of migratory birds in the region.
