Bird Camp

On March 10th, a one-day event was held on the occasion of migration of the lonely Siberian Crane which winters in the Caspian coast of Iran. Along with the crane, many other migratory bird species leave. On March 10, a one-day event was held involving kids in bird camps and awareness education activities. Age group was 5-15, and it was a great opportunity for local kids to meet other kids (from urban areas) and exchange their thoughts about migratory birds through art (Origami, etc.).

In connection with World Migratory Bird Day last year we announced Birdhouse design competition. This year we have already prepared the birdhouses and on the occasion of the next World Migratory Bird Day IDEA Campaign will be installing birdhouses in Baku, Moscow, London, Biskek and Vilnius.

During these days we organize open days of the ringing station present in the Oasi. We also organize activities with children for sensibilization on environmental problems.

The Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds and the project LIFE+ "The Return of the Neophron" will organize several activities for the World Migratory Bird Day. - The first one is the launch of the computer game "The Life of the Egyptian Vulture" - http://lifeneophron.eu/game/. The first level of the game will be launched on the 11th of May. The game's goal is to popularize the species and the threats. The main targets are children and younger people. - On the dam Studen kladenets will be held the educational camp Kartali.

Obrączkowanie migrujących ptaków dostarcza informacji m.in. o trendach ich liczebności, trasach i terminach wędrówek, ich kondycji w czasie migracji, które mogą posłużyć do monitoringu i ochrony wędrownych ptaków. Jak co roku od ponad 50 lat, i tej wiosny będziemy obrączkować ptaki na naszych dwóch stacjach na polskim wybrzeżu – Hel i Bukowo. W czasie World Migratory Bird Day – 11 maja 2013 – zapraszamy do odwiedzenia naszych stacji terenowych, do bliskiego kontaktu z wędrującymi ptakami, przyjrzenia się obrączkowaniu i wspólnych obserwacji ptaków, z pomocą doświadczonych ornitologów.

Este año, entre el 20 de julio y el 10 de octubre el Colectivo Ornitológico Cigüeña Negra (COCN.) y sus voluntarios repiten después de 40 años el trabajo de campo realizado por el GEMRA (Grupo Español de Migración de Rapaces) en el área del estrecho de Gibraltar en el que participaron numerosos ornitólogos dirigidos por el profesor Francisco Bernis. Se han organizado 10 turnos de trabajo para 10 voluntarios con 10 días de duración por turno.

Puestos de observación de aves y actividades en familia (juegos, curso, itinerarios guiados)

Mediante el presente la Dirección Provincial del Ambiente de Imbabura, pone en su conocimiento lo solicitado con Memorando Nro. MAE-CGZ4-DPAM-2013-0494 de fecha, 09 de abril de 2013, " CREANDO REDES PARA CONSERVAR LAS AVES MIGRATORIAS":

World Migratory Bird Day will be jointly organised by FRIENDS OF THE ENVIRONMENT CENTRE & KAINAT FOUNDATION,Doha-Qatar by involving youth and students.
The activities will include a conference on Migratory Birds, painting competitions, bird watching, camp and lecture by experts on Birds in Qatar followed by cultural events on Migratory Birds.
