On March 10th, a one-day event was held on the occasion of migration of the lonely Siberian Crane which winters in the Caspian coast of Iran. Along with the crane, many other migratory bird species leave. On March 10, a one-day event was held involving kids in bird camps and awareness education activities. Age group was 5-15, and it was a great opportunity for local kids to meet other kids (from urban areas) and exchange their thoughts about migratory birds through art (Origami, etc.). Sorkh-rud wetland is a major wintering site for swans, so it is becoming very attractive for kids and their parents, however there is little information available to them. This event was unique in building the ground for future collaboration between locals, active conservation NGOs, as well as tourists. On May 10th, there is an evaluation meeting regarding the event that was held in March 10th, which involves a picture exhibition and storytelling.
