World Migratory Bird Day celebrations 2011 at Boondall Wetlands

Join the fun at Boondall Wetlands to help celebrate World Migratory Bird Day 2011. A range of free activities including canoeing, cycling, guided walks, art workshops, bird-watching and storytelling in the beautiful natural surrounds of Boondall Wetlands Reserve. Boondall Wetlands is part of Ramsar-listed Moreton Bay in Queensland, Australia.

Migratory Birds Festival in Syria

The celebration will start on Saturday, 14th May with a trip to Jabboul Lake north east of Syria for birdwatching activities. 15-20 Journalists will accompany this trip. In the afternoon a roundtable in Aleppo will discuss the role of migratory birds in nature, with a special focus on the Syrian environment.

WMBD celebrations in Israel

World Migratory Bird Day illustrates the need to protect migratory birds. Stalls, activities and information on migratory birds, bird ringing station, recognizing the work of the birdwatcher, bird watching games for children, releasing rehabilitated migratory birds (kites and Hasidism) and many more will be organised end of April at the Israel Nature & Parks Authority.

WMBD Promoting Indigenous Knowledge of Bird Conservation

Commemorating with over 500 school children, orphans & vulnerable children, teachers, local community members, and other stakeholders. School children showcased various performances including choral singing, dancing, drama, playing musical instruments, and reading poetry depicting conservation issues.

World Migratory Bird Day in Mongolia

This WMBD event in Mongolia will run from 14-15 May and will include the following activities:

  • National Bird Fair;
  • Bird watching for children and birders;
  • Bird related public awareness;
  • Bird educational activities.

Appalachian Highlands Birding Trail Launch

IT’S FOR THE BIRDS! LITTLE RIVER CANYON CENTER LAUNCHES APPALACHIAN HIGHLANDS BI...RDING TRAIL The Appalachian Highlands Birding Trail (AHBT) will be launched on International Migratory Bird Day, May 12, 2012. The Jacksonville State University Environmental Policy and Information Center (EPIC) and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce will host the ceremony which will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Little River Canyon Center in Fort Payne, AL. The AHBT includes six gateway sites, forty birding sites and connects the North Alabama Birding Trail to the Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail.

World Migratory Bird Day: Hawk Woods Nature Center

All are invited to attend our Flying WILD celebration of birds as they return to Michigan. We will play a migration simulation for families, The Great Migration Challenge. Throughout the day we will also be conducting Geocaching with facilitators. Consider joining us for a pot-luck luncheon. From 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.

Migratory Soaring Birds over the Rift Valley in Palestine

In this event PWLS will celebrate World Migratory Birds Day (WMBD) in Jericho for two days. This event will include the subjects of Migratory Soaring Birds & Tourism, Migratory Soaring Birds & Waste Management and Migratory Soaring Birds & Agriculture. PWLS will organize this event in Jericho for more awareness of these subjects under the motto of: Migratory Birds and People-Together through time.
