Marking World Migratory Bird Day Celebration in Nyandarua County

The event will be marked in Nyandarua County which host 3 IBAs, Lake Olbolossat, Kinagop grasslands and Aberdare forest. The event will involve local community conservation groups, NGOs, local schools, companies, media and county government officials. Main activities will include, volleyball tornament, awareness creation talks and planting of tussock grass along the river Nairobi.

Another Celebrate Birds Birdwalk! At Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve

If you haven’t been able to join of the Celebrate Birds! birdwalks so far, you still can with a couple of outings in the next few days scheduled in conjunction with Loudoun Wildlife’s annual Birdathon and to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day.

World Migratory Bird Day 2018 in Cambodia

Department of Freshwater Wetland Conservation of General Directorate of Administrative for Nature Conservation and Protection, Ministry of Environment organized awareness and education event “World Migratory Bird Day 2018” at Anlung Pring Protected Landscape where a flock of Sarus Crane and other shorebird such as Black-tailed Godwit using that area as feeding ground during their non-breeding period. This awareness event was celebrated on 9th and 10th May 2018 with support from Non-Government Organization partners including BirdLife International Cambodia Programme, Wildfowl and Wetland Tru

World Migratory Bird Day Spring Bird Count with Bighorn Audubon Society

Each year Bighorn Audubon Society participates in the World Migratory Bird Day Spring Bird Count, created in 1993 at the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center and the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. The count is similar to Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count but is conducted on one day each year:  the second Saturday in May in the U.S. and Canada, and in October in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.

Birding by Ear Brunch at Miles Wildlife Sanctuary

In celebration of World Migratory Bird Day join naturalist Zach Adams for a relaxed and fun morning of brunch and birding by ear at Miles Wildlife Sanctuary. We will be enjoying coffee, tea, juice, pancakes as well as the wonderful bird songs of spring! The second week of May should be close to the peak of migration, and so the woods should be alive with warbler song! This program is usually a big hit, so we will be capping attendance at 20 people!

World Migratory Bird Day Walk by Bonnie Bochan

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day as well as the centennial of the Migratory Bird Species Act by welcoming returning neotropical migrants. Join Bonnie Bochan at her property for a bird walk in honor of the occasion. 8 - 10 am at 94 Pressey Village Road, Deer Isle.

World Migratory Bird Day at Bear Rocks Lake

Join us 8-10 am Saturday, May 12 at Bear Rocks Lake WMA as we celebrate World Migratory Bird Day.

Along with a naturalist, we’ll look for warblers and other returning migrants.

Open to adults and interested children ages 12 & up.

The children of Oualidia Private sing for migratory birds

The children of Oualidia Private School gathered in Oualidia Ecological Teaching Centre to give an enthusiastic homage to their winged companions. The Ecological Centre, run by GREPOM (BirdLife in Morocco), provides training that empowers local groups to put conservation projects into action. Every year, it also hosts the World Migratory Bird Day celebrations, with an exciting program of events including photo competitions and nest box-making workshops.
