World Migratory Bird Day 2018 Celebration at the Guam National Wildlife Refuge at Ritidian

The Guam National Wildlife Refuge at Ritidian will be hosting several events on Saturday, June 2, 2018, in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day. 

Bird Bonanza by the Audubon Center of the North Woods

Spend the day birding in Minnesota’s largest state park. Visit between 8 and 11:30 a.m. to participate in an interactive bird banding session. Follow the signs along the road to the wildlife pond by the park office and park along the road. Bring binoculars to help spot birds along the trails in the afternoon. Then meet inside the St. Croix Lodge to see a live bird program by the Audubon Center of the North Woods from 5 to 6 p.m. (1-320-384-6591, mndnr.gov).​

Migratory Bird Fest at the Highlands Center

Bring the whole family to celebrate World Migratory Day at the Highlands Center! Test your wits at Raven Games, learn about local birds as you complete your own Migration, and learn how to draw birds with local artist Diane Iverson. Special presentations from Prescott National Forest (8) and Audubon Arizona (10:30). $5 for adults; $2 for kids ages 5-12; free for members

Zoo Celebrates Bird Day at Idaho Falls Zoo

The Snake River Aubudon Society and the Zoo discuss why birds migrate and its importance. There are bird-related crafts and activities. Activities are free with paid zoo admission. Zoo admission is $7.50 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4.50 for children 4-12 and free for attendees under 3. Visit birdday.org or idahofallszoo.org; call 208-612-8552.

"It's For the Birds" - WMBD Campain to Save Coldwater

Inspired by the flowing waters of the Agua Fria River that runs through their property, owners Garry and Denise Rogers chose to call their home Coldwater Farm. Nestled in the heart of Humboldt, the lushness of the property allows you to feel as if you have entered the Secret Garden. Noticing an abundance of bird species, Garry began keeping a bird list that is now up to 127 species.

2018 World Bird Migratory Day: UNIFYING OUR VOICES FOR BIRDS

The 2018 world bird migratory day will be held for the first time in Omo forest reserve, Ogun state, Nigeria. The two day event will begin on friday with awareness visits to selected communities around the reserve. During these visits, awareness will be raised on bird soecies migration, the threats and the actions required to mitigate these threats. 

The second day event will begin with a bird watching outing around the reserve. This will be followed by an assembly where invited partcipants will be treated to an educative play on bird migration.
