Karanambu Bird Festival

In celebration of World Migratory Bird Day- Karanambu Lodge and Trust, pioneers in conservation and birding tourism in the Rupununi and Guyana is hosting its first ever Karanambu Bird Festival to promote the the importance of birds and bird conservation to the region and inspire another generation of birding watchers, conservationists and tour guides. Events commentce at 8am, invited are young people ages 8-18yrs form the villages of Yupukari, Kwaimatta, Quatatta, Massara and Binna Hill to enjoy a day of learnign and fun. with birdwatchign trips, games, crafts and lunch.

World Migratory Bird Day

Students from different schools will be taken outdoors for birding and different sorts of nature and wildlife related activities and a small workshop on wildlife awareness and conservation.

Día Mundial de las Aves Migratorias 2018

Este evento será celebrado en el Centro Universitario de la Costa Sur, Universidad de Guadalajara, organizado por el Proyecto Aves del Departamento de Ecología y Recursos Naturales y la Coordinación de Extensión. Este evento tiene como meta principal fomentar la educación e importancia de las aves migratorias y residentes, así como sus hábitats y los retos que enfrentan cada año. Para esto, tendremos algunas ponencias de profesores, experiencias de estudiantes de IRNA en el estudio de aves, autoridades e investigadores del área de la conservación de las aves.

International Migratory Bird Day at the Vallarta Botanical Garden

Come join us for a family-friendly event celebrating migratory birds. An 8 am bird-watching hike guided by a local bird specialist will be available. Please arrive on time to join the hike! We hope you are able to participate in this special celebration and enjoy the natural beauty within our Garden. Event participation is included with Garden admission at $200.00 MXN pesos per person. Garden entry and event participation is free for members.

Festival de Aves Migratorias- Saltillo, Coahuila

A festival about migratory birds so that people can get to know them. There will be dances, informative talks, sale of handicrafts allusive to migratory birds, all organized by the Museum of the Birds of Mexico in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.
We expect the assistance of 300-400 people. All artistic and educational activities will be free. There will be activities for children and adults.

 

Migratory Bird Open House at the Anacostia River Center

Join the Earth Conservation Corps for an open house in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day. We'll have:

  • Discussion with ornithologist/ author Rob Bierregaard. 
  • Live drawing demonstration with iIllustrator Kate Garchinsky.
  • Encounter our raptor ambassadors.
  • Explore the Anacostia on a river expedition.

Carl Linhart WMBD Bike Ride at Seney Wildlife Refuge

This World Migratory Bird Day outing is dedicated to Carl Linhart as it was a favorite place of his. Plan for a full day at Seney Wildlife Refuge via bicycle. There is a wonderful trail system at Seney and this will be a great time of year to see birds. We'll do the inner 7-mile loop stopping along the way to view migrating birds in the man-made impoundments. This trip is 10 miles one way, making for a long but very interesting day.

Vancouver Avian Research Centre's Bird Monitoring and Banding Field Workshop

The Bird Monitoring and Banding Workshop is a 3 day action-packed introductory course consisting of presentations, specimen study, field mist-netting, banding, and processing under the direction of Derek Matthews, Master Bander, a North American Banding Council (NABC) certified trainer and Bander-in-charge at the Vancouver Avian Research Centre.

Bird Monitoring and Banding Classroom Workshops by the Vancouver Avian Research Centre

The Vancouver Avian Research Centre is hosting Bird Monitoring and Banding Workshops this spring! Get up close and personal with birds as you experience a professional bird monitoring and banding station in action! Participants will receive training in bird safety and welfare, bird identification, bird banding and taking biometric measurements, ageing and sexing techniques, mist net use and data collection.

Spring Bird Count by Nature Regina

Nature Regina is hosting a Spring Bird Count! All skill levels are welcome to count migrating and breeding birds around the city, followed by a lunch (location TBD).
