Puget Sound Bird Fest

Puget Sound Bird Fest in Edmonds features a two-day program from May 12-13 with expert speakers, guided outdoor birding walks, special field trips by bus and boat, workshops, and children’s activities. Coinciding with International Migratory Bird Day, the festival marks an ideal time for viewing the over 200 species of birds identified in Edmonds. Beginning bird and nature enthusiasts as well as more advanced birders will be enticed by the varied schedule of events, the expert guides, and the diverse habitats to explore in Edmonds.

Educational Activities within the framework of the WMBD in Kazakhstan

Local NGO - partners of ACBK - will conduct World Migratory Bird Day on different days, in 13 cities and villages, including Almaty, Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Petropavlovsk, Kostanay etc. Target group are school-children and students. Lections, various competitions, presentations will be carried out.

Raising National Profile for Migratory Birds in Kenya

Processions will be held at the first 5 sites, including public meetings with speeches, children singing, banners and posters of WMBD. The local Site Support Groups will organise these events. A special bird walk with a focus on migratory birds will take place on 5 April at Nairobi National Park (a minibus will be hired to bring people there). There will be extensive media coverage and articles in the press. A report with pictures will be produced and sent to the BirdLife Africa Secretariat

WINGS

WINGS is the central launching event of the first WORLD MIGRATORY BIRD DAY (WMBD). It promisses to be a magical and poignant artistic creation by a group of well known international artists and performers to help celebrate the launch of the World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD). WINGS will take place on the edge of the Great Rift Valley - at Ol Ari Nyiro, Laikipia Nature Conservancy on the 9th April 2006 and is an initiative from Ms Kuki and Sveva Gallmann and the Great Rift Valley Trust.

ALAS

We will conduct an educational workshop about migratory birds and a slide show for kids. Emphasis was made on main threats to these birds and on a “friendly behavior to birds”. A drawing session is planned.

World Migratory Bird Day in Romania

Every year the National Bird Day is celebrated in Romania on 1 April. Because it is an old tradition for our country we decided to include this event in the celebration of the World Migratory Bird Day. We organized several activities meant to attract people’s attention on birds and the need to protect them.

Caribbean Endemic Bird Festival

April 21: 2nd Annual Pro-Enviro Fair at the University Sports & Fitness Center, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Registration for \\\\\\\"Birdwatching the Best Birds\\\\\\\". Free movie (7:00 pm): Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill\\\\\\\", UVI auditorium.

April 22: \\\\\\\"Birding for Beginners\\\\\\\" at the UVI Marine Science Center, 8:00 - 10:00 am. Free movie (7:00 pm) \\\\\\\"March of the Penguins\\\\\\\", UVI auditorium.

April 29: Submission of checklists and awards for Birding the Best Birds, UVI, 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.

Bird and Nature Festival

Each spring the Bird and Nature Festival is held in Abbeville and the towns facing the bay of the Somme. We organise a film and a photographic competitions, several art and photo exhibitons, workshops for children, lectures and many guided walks.The bird is the heart of the festival, many migratory birds stop here, the festival offers a unique opportunity to watch them and to know more about their life and habits.

WMBD 2007 in Uzbekistan

About 200 students and teachers of Bukhara State Unversity have celebrated the WMBD on 12 May 2007 in a nice place called Sarmyshsay near Navoi,SE Uzbekistan. This event was organized under the BirdLife/RSPB project \"Important Bird Areas in Uzbekistan\".
