Migrate to the Marsh at Myrick Park for World Migratory Bird Day

WisCorps, Coulee Region Audubon Society, US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Geological Survey and the City of La Crosse are hosting a World Migratory Bird Day celebration in Myrick Park and at the Myrick Park Center on Saturday May 4, 2019 from 6:30 am – 12 noon.  This entirely FREE event includes a sunrise birding hike, bird banding demonstration, family-friendly birding walks, River Valley Raptors live raptor presentation and booth, bird-themed crafts and games.

Yampatika Spring Festival and World Migratory Bird Day Celebration!

Explore the Outdoors: World Migratory Bird Day

On Saturday, April 13, Fort Caroline National Memorial will host the 6th annual Explore the Outdoors: World Migratory Bird Day. This event will feature a variety of hands-on activities focusing on migratory birds and their protected habitat in Northeast Florida. This year’s theme is “Protect Birds: Be the solution to plastic pollution.” By making changes individually and within our communities, we can make a difference in the fight against plastic pollution, improving habitat and survival rates for birds.

World Migratory Bird Day by the Avian Reconditioning Center

Join us as we celebrate the Swallow-Tailed Kite. This species nests in Florida and winters in Brazil. This is a 10,000 mile migratory journey! Meet Scooter our STKI and learn about conservation efforts and what dangers they may endure during their journey. Two years ago, a GPS tracking device was placed on Apopka,one of our rehabilitated Kites. Come out and learn about tracking studies for these birds and find out where Apopka is now.

Helena World Migratory Bird Day Outdoor Fair

6:30 am on May 4th, 2019 are hosted bird identification hikes at the Helena Regulating Reservoir. 9:00 am the Outdoor Fair begins with over 18 education  and fun stations--including a heron rookery viewing site, live raptors, Native American drumming and blessings for birds, building bird boxes,  bird games, face painting and much more.

World Migratory Bird Day Celebration in Northern New Mexico

This year's World Migratory Bird Day theme is "Protect the Birds: Be the Solution to Plastic Pollution!" Bring the whole family to New Mexico Wildlife Center to help us celebrate wild birds and find ways to reduce the dangerous impact of plastics on them. See wild birds close up, watch live raptor presentations, learn about native species and how we can improve their habitats, have fun with activities for all ages, meet others in our communities who are working to help birds, and more. Food will be available for sale.
