Bird Day Celebration by Friends of Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge

Friends of Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge are hosting a day of guided bird walks, bird banding demonstration, games, activties, and information for all ages.  Members of the Sussex County Bird Club will provide tips on identfication by sight and sound, the Avian Wildlife Center will have some of their resident hawks, owls, and songbirds on display, Restore Native Plants will share information on landscaping that will benefit wild birds.

17th Annual Spring Migration Festival by the Great Swamp Conservancy

Celebrating the return of Migratory Birds with a festival that incudes live birds of prey, nature walks to the Great Blue Heron Rookery, tractor /wagon rides to a 30 acre wetland for bird observation, children's nature crafts and games, pond exploration, wildlife artists, crafters, music, and food. Family fun with environmental education.

WMBD at Fernbank Science Center

Join us May 12, 2018 for World Migratory Bird Day at Fernbank Science Center.  There will be free fun for the whole family, including bird activities, live bird demonstrations, a binocular "training" course and much more.  This year we are also hosting a photography contest sponored by the Georgia Nature Photography Association and Fernbank Science Center.  The title of the competition is "Migratory Birds of the Southeast" 

Nature Calgary Festival at Inglewood Bird Sanctuary

Come celebrate the return of our feathered friends as they migrate back to Calgary after the winter season. Learn about migration and conservation from local birding experts, enjoy nature-themed games and crafts, and go on a guided sanctuary tour. Bring the family to enjoy this international celebration dedicated to birds and their habitats.​

World Migratory Bird Day at the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge

The Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge will celebrate the 25th anniversary of International Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, May 19th, 2018. Now known as World Bird Day, the 2018 theme is celebrating the Year of the Bird, the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

SPECIAL NOTE: This year we will again have an “Early Bird” bird walk on the Maquam / Black Creek trails. Meet at 5:30 AM at the Route 78 parking lot. (Registration for this walk is not necessary.)

World Migratory Bird Day by Nature Canada

Nature Canada will be leading three Guided Nature Walks at 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM.  These walks will be lead by Nature Canada’s Naturalist Director and resident bird-expert, Ted Cheskey, as well as other expert naturalists. These walks will enable everyone to explore their surroundings and discover the birds species with whom they share their local urban spaces.

DÍA MUNDIAL DE LAS AVES MIGRATORIAS ANCÓN 2018

El Día Mundial de la Aves Migratorias en Ancón, busca sensibilizar entre el público visitante al parque Central y Balneario de Ancón sobre la importancia de conservar a las aves especialmente a las aves migratorias.

El evento contará con talleres educativos, conferencias y observación de aves. 

La participación es libre! 

Festival de las Aves Migratorias Ventanilla 2018

El festival de las aves en los Humedales de Ventanilla, se realizá en marco de las celebraciones del Día Mundial de las Aves Migratorias.

Las actividades se realizarán en el Parque Ecológico Municipal El Mirador "Humedales de Ventanilla" a partir de las 9:00am. Tendremos talleres educativos, diversas charlas, observación de aves y mucho más. Ven con tu familia, el ingreso es libre!

7:30am – 9:00am | Meet in the parking lot with binoculars at the ready.

Bird Banding
9:00am – 12:00pm | Takes place near the Pavilion. Conducted by the Urban Ecology Center.

Feather Fest by City of New London

Join the City of New London for a FREE event May 12 from 8-11am at the central shelter house of Hatten Park. We'll celebrate the return of Spring and the return of migratory birds. Bring your binoculars, or borrow a pair (please bring ID for collateral), walk the trails and listen for the songs of the breeding birds. We'll have audio CDs playing in the shelter to match the singer with his song. There will be activities for the kids and Wild Ones Natural Landscapers will bring native plants for purchase.
