As Asia’s world city with the most dynamic citylife, Hong Kong does preserve some truly impressive wildlife and ecology. Some remarkable habitats and species are protected at the outskirt of Hong Kong, Mai Po1. There, WWF-Hong Kong has a dedicated Research and Monitoring Team on site that works on assessing the effectiveness of the management of different habitats which are homes to the thousands of migratory birds refuge in the marshes and mudflats. “Bird count”, “photo recording” and “ringing” are among the works that bring in the knowledge of birds.
