The German Youth Association for the Protection of Nature (NAJU) is currently carrying out a campaign for the protection of migratory waterbirds and the climate. This “climate-academy” on the subject of “migratory birds in a changing climate” is a qualifying programme for young people between 16 and 23 years of age with a thirst for knowledge and creative ideas, who want to discover more about the causes of climate change and its impact on migration and to take action themselves. On the weekend of 12/13 May, our participants will be watching migratory birds in different locations all over Germany. We will summarise the results on our website www.klimaakademie.de. One of the locations is in Rüscheid, Rheinland-Pfalz. Those taking part will be busy watching birds within the the project “the hour of the garden bird”. The NAJU local group is organising various bird-watching excursions there.
