Educational Activity (Rajasthan)

Migratory birds are the most winter visitors in Rajasthan. During my research study I observed that most of them are Passerines. My study area was restricted to District Kota (Rajasthan), famous as an industrial city of Rajasthan. All bird watchers will be glad to know that Udpuria 30 kms from Kota city has been registered as the breeding colony of Painted Storks rare in Rajasthan. Now efforts are being taken by the local NGO\'s and District authorities to turn this place into a tourist spot. In Kota district only I have observed various species of Birds, once I have seen Greater Adjutant, a rare species in Rajasthan. From all this I can conclude that District Kota is a hot spot area for migratory birds and a vibrant place for bird watchers. There is an urgent need to create awareness among the locals in order to make it a paradise for bird watchers.
