Birds and wetlands

Association pour la Conservation de la Nature au Rwanda (ACNR), Bird Life partner in Rwanda will join the world for the 2nd time to celebrate the World Migratory Bird Day. The ACNR members, the conservation Governments and Non Governments Organizations will be invited in bird watching activities in a complexes lake of Bugesera. The site harbors a high number of species and population of water birds but a big number of lakes in the region are threatened by sedimentation due to lack of protection of lake sides.
Birding is about acquiring knowledge. Not just about birds\' names, but also about their songs, their behavior, their habitat and how they relate to the rest of nature.
Using messages which will be addressed on 2007 WMBD occasion and the reality from the field, ACNR will let people from different organization know the impact of climate change on wild birds and their habitat, then ask them to take action in protecting lakes and their sides, main habitat of nomad bird species.
