Introducing the Flyway Approach to ordinary people

On the 9th of May a public centre will be opened which will enable visitors to observe bird habitats and native wetland bird species. A bird guide will be on stand by to take birders for bird watching.

On the 10th of May 2008 we shall be joined by members of the Indwe Environment Club, the Wakkerstroom Primary School and Uthaka Secondary School Eco-Clubs. We will present slide shows on migratory birds inhabiting the Wakkerstroom area and stress the importance of the local wetland system. Another presentation will underline the importance of grasslands for migratory birds. Lastly, the Flyway approach shall be introduced to the participants. After the launch participants shall visit the local open water system where a bird watching activity will be organized.
