Spring Birding Day: Saint Johns Arboretum

Saint Johns Arboretum and the surrounding Avon Hills area have been designated an Important Birding Area by the Audubon Society. Join the Saint John’s Arboretum on Saturday, May 12 for a day of birding during peak migration. Unique to this bird walk, we’ll stay on the 2,740 acres of Saint Johns Arboretum and do all our birding by walking. Small groups led by experienced birders will head out to different habitats. Some groups only go a short distance and others take a longer hike. Birders of all ages and skills are welcome. In past years, more than 100 species of birds have been seen out of the 240 species that have been recorded at Saint Johns. In recent years, sitings have included the Gray-cheeked thrush, Cerulean warbler, Mourning warbler, Eastern towhee, Avocet, Harris sparrow, and more!
