Bird watching on the Ooijpolder, Netherlands

A cycle trip for Wetlands International staff and families is planned along the famous Ooijpolder, a flood plain wetland on the River Waal, an area of international importance for migratory and resident waterbirds. The trip aims to provide a first time introduction to migratory waterbirds and their identification. Many of these birds, such as the Black Tern, will have recently returned to the Netherlands from Africa to breed here.
