World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) is a global awareness-raising campaign with the aim to highlight the need for the protection of migratory birds and their habitats. It was initiated in 2006 by the African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbird Agreement (AEWA) Secretariat in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Convention on Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS).
