Sharjah safari - is the biggest safari park outside of Africa. It has more than 400 birds of 70 African species, living in three big aviaries. With such a variety of birds, it is impossible to ignore World Migratory Bird Day. And we will not!
We are inviting guests to plan their trip to the Sharjah safari on Saturday, 08.10.2022, to participate in the interactive educational activities at Into Africa zone, where the biggest aviary with more than 60 different species of birds is located. Find one of the touch table stations at the Visitor Centre or inside the Aviary, and learn more about the fascinating world of birds. This year we will share not only interesting facts about migrating birds, but also visitors will have a chance to know about the light pollution problem. While observing the birds of the Sharjah safari, we will watch videos and play games.
1) Game “Migrating VS Non-migrating birds” - try your best to identify what birds can fly long distances.
2) Video clip about WMBD and light pollution theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OkVUKrbhxU&ab_channel=WorldMigratoryBir...) - the problem of light pollution is universal, check out your home country - what is the intensity of light pollution there, according to the lightpollutionmap.info.
3) Bingo cards - if you find all facts and bird species listed on the card - you will have a lovely prize from the Sharjah safari.
Join us at the Sharjah safari and explore the world of birds!
