World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated twice a year, on the second Saturday of the months of May and October. This year: May 8 and October 9. This celebration corresponds to a worldwide campaign dedicated to raising awareness about migratory birds, their importance and the need to cooperate between local, national and international institutions to conserve them.
The motto of this management is: "dark nights, safe migrations", it has been chosen to highlight the importance of conserving, restoring ecological connectivity, integrity of ecosystems that support the natural cycles essential for the survival and well-being of migratory birds. Also, it has the purpose of demonstrating that migratory birds are part of our environment, since they require different migratory routes, with various purposes such as: breeding, feeding, resting and hibernation.
Lake Titicaca is the highest in the world (3,810 m), shared by Bolivia - Peru with an area of 8,000 km2, divided into larger lake and smaller lake. Internationally recognized as a RAMSAR site, as it is an important area for the conservation of birds, biodiversity and a World Heritage Site with several endemic species. The dissemination of information on migratory birds in this area is scarce. Therefore, work will be carried out in the communities of Lake Titicaca Carabuco (larger lake) and Puerto Pérez (smaller lake) on the Bolivian side. In this sense, “Aves Bolivianas” (representative: Paola Andrea Velásquez Noriega) presents itself as the organizing institution and will promote the launch of the workshop aimed at young people from 13 to 15 years old,
