Port Aransas Community Native Tree Giveaway

Port Aransas is celebrating World Migratory Bird Day with a native tree giveaway!  Arbor Day Foundation, along with American Wind Energy Association, are sending hundreds of native trees for local residents to help recover habitat for birds and wildlife. Trees will be in 1 or 3-gallon size pots and species include: Texas Ebony, Mexican Olive, Red Mulberry, Kidneywood, Sugar Hackberry, Texas Persimmon, Mountain Laurel, Anacua, Montezuma Cypress, Live Oak, Cedar Elm, Mexican White Oak, and Bur Oak.
The event is October 10, from 9 AM-Noon: Enter the Civic Center parking lot on Avenue A. The giveaway will be set up as a drive-thru. Volunteers will give you the tree list and help you choose the best tree for your property.
