Birds connect people along the East Atlantic Flyway

In October 2020, BirdLife Partners along the East Atlantic Flyway are celebrating in collaboration with different institutions the World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD), a campaign to raise awareness of migratory birds and the need for international cooperation to conserve them. The East Atlantic Flyway Initiative is giving a tone to the partners and countries that are celebrating the event in the framework AEWA and CMS, and the global celebration of migration, bird and birding organised by BirdLife International.

The Objectives of the webinar organised by EAFI are:

Raise awareness of importance of EAFI as collaboration along the flyway to conserve migratory birds and their habitats
Share the success story of conservation of migratory birds along the flyway
Partners share the activities planned for the WMBD

 

During the webinar, 4 experts will give us the insight on:

East Atlantic Flyway Initiative:  protecting birds along the flyway from Arctic to South Africa-  Dieter Hoffman from RSPB
Research on migratory birds: The case study of the Black-tailed Godwit migration along EAF – Jose Alves, University of East Anglia
Site Conservation: the major achievement in Nigeria - Muhtari  Aminu-Kano, Nigeria Conservation Foundation.
Policy: The AEWA plan of Action - Jacques Trouvilliez and Evelyn Moloko, AEWA
