Covid-19 situation is not under control in Bangladesh yet. So any festival and public gathering may not be possible to celebrate WMBD 2020 on 10th October. Considering the present situation we are proposing to celebrate the WMBD 2020 on 10th October through online discussion, digital art competition and development of educative and awareness materials.
a. Online discussion session on WMBD: An online virtual discussion session on migratory birds, their issues and the need for conservation will be held in Dhaka on October 10, 2020. We will invite decision-making leaders, governmental agencies, conservationists, environmental campaigners, and representatives of the news media, etc. to engage and express their views on migratory birds. Guests and participants are invited to enter the conversation online through Zoom Cloud Meeting and Facebook live. This session of dialogue woill also allow participants to pledge their support for the protection of migratory birds.
b. Digital art competition: We will arrange online-based art competition on the theme of World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) 2020 for students of university and colleges. The activity will be organized through social media (Facebook) and email-based communication so that individuals can participate from their home. All kinds of awards will be provided to 3 winners.
c. Developing promotional materials for bird conservation: We will develop and print posters with the theme of WMBD 2020 in Bengali (2000 copies) and leaflets in Bengali (3000 copies). The materials will be distributed to universities, colleges and school and local communities through volunteers.
