The event will consist of a visit to a natural area located on the campus of Federal University of São Carlos (São Carlos city, São Paulo state, Brazil), to talk about migratory birds that come to Brazil and use local ecosystems as non-breeding area or as a pit stop durign their migration.
While observing birds at UFSCar Lake, we will discuss the environmental impacts in wetlands of Cerrado and Atlantic Forest, focused on pollution and other problems with high potential to affect migratory birds.
The main goal is to bring people's attention to the migratory bird species, as well as the importance and urgency of conserving the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest phytogeographic domains.
