What is the competition about?
The organizers of WMBD are holding a video competition, the winner of which will be used as the official WMBD trailer for the 2016 campaign.
Who can participate?
We welcome anyone's participation as individual or as team. If you are working with a couple of people please assign a team leader. The maximum number of people per team is not fixed.
What should the video be about?
Contest participants must create a trailer video which will address all of the following:
> Promote World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) 2016 with focus on the theme “Illegal killing, taking and trade of migratory birds”.
> Encourage people to take action on WMBD during the week of 10 May 2016.
> Include our website url
www.worldmigratorybirdday.org as well as the
logos of WMBD, CMS and AEWA.
> Be in between 30 seconds and two minutes.

Which language should be used?
Videos can be produced in any language or even without any. The language of the video has absolutely no impact on the judges of the competition for decision making. However for the sake of maximum reach, if the video uses a language other than English, French or Spanish (the working languages of the secretariat), subtitles in one these three languages should be provided.
What is the deadline?
Please submit your video as soon as possible but the last day for submitting the video link is 11:59 p.m. (GMT+1:00) Sunday, 3 April 2016.
What are the prizes?
1st Prize – €1,500
2nd Prize – €1,000
3rd Prize – €500
Additionally the first place will serve as the official WMBD 2016 trailer.
How will the winners be selected?
A jury will decide the winners. The jury will be composed of representatives of UNEP, the CMS and AEWA Secretariats, and the main WMBD partners and sponsors. CMS and AEWA reserve the right to veto any entry at any stage of the competition.
When will the winners be announced?
The winners will be announced at
www.worldmigratorybirdday.org on Monday 25 April 2016 and they will also get advised by e-mail from the organizers.
