The Discovery Cove Nature Center at Lake Thunderbird State Park will celebrate World Migratory Bird Day on Saturday with a slate of bird-related activities.
The nature center is off State Highway 9 on Clear Bay Avenue.
A bird walk at 9 a.m. will kick off the day's events. At 11 a.m., naturalist Kathy Furneaux will present a slideshow on “Birds of Lake Thunderbird.” Information and activities for children ages 4 to 7 will be presented at 1 p.m.
Children ages 6 and older can make hummingbird feeders out of baby food jars at 2:30 p.m. for a fee of $1, or 50 cents if you bring your own baby food jar. At 3:30 p.m., children 3 and older can make bird bookmarks for 50 cents.
