Channel 4 Doc Highlights Spoon-Billed Sandpiper Conservation in China

 "China: Between Clouds and Dreams," explores the lives of Chinese citizens and the country's "environmental destiny". The Channel 4 documentary, which aired in November 2016, intimately shows the everyday lives of Chinese people as they grapple with an ambitious future and an increasingly fragile ecology. In the premiere episode, a group of school children investigate the existence of the endangered spoon-billed sandpiper. This stunning series offeres a glimpse of real life in today's China, while revealing the link between people and the environment, specifically through migratory birds like the sandpiper. The documentary captures the spirit of World Migratory Bird Day 2017 and the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals 14 (life below water) and 15 (life on land), which aim to show links between the lives of people around the world and the migratory species that they share it with.
