The Natural Resources Conservation Section of Dubai Municipality’s Environment Department sustains its ancient commitment to World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) every year which started in 2007. World Migratory Bird Day 2017 came as another year of exciting workshops and activities in collaboration with the Awareness Section of the Environment Department, highlighting the theme “Their Future is our Future – A Healthy Planet for People and Migratory Birds.” The theme rings true for Dubai which hosts approximately 270 bird species in Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary, linking people with the nature and promoting the importance of sustainable management of Dubai’s natural resources by emphasizing conservation of birds for the future of the mankind.
