Welcome Migratory Birds! Spring is arriving soon. This means birds are migrating from their wintering grounds in Africa to Europe and Asia. Let’s welcome migratory birds after their long and exhaustive journeys. Make your garden or balcony bird-friendly so that the birds will feel at home. Now is the ideal time to refresh your bird identification skills and also to educate and motivate children about the need for the conservation of migratory birds.

Celebrating World Wildlife Day

On 3 March was World Wildlife Day, a day for celebrating the diversity of wild fauna and flora. On this official UN day, we were reminded of the urgent need to step up the fight against wildlife crime, which has wide-ranging economic, environmental and social impacts. Migratory birds are affected by illegal killing and poisoning particularly on their journeys across borders, requiring international collaboration to ensure their protection along the way.
