To celebrate World Migratory Birds Day, the Tyrrell Park Nature Center is hosting is its Nature Explorers program on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10am - 1pm and all the Nature Center’s discovery stations will be related to Birds! Some of the hands-on activities include:
- Design a bird’s nest
- Explore V-shaped Bird Flight
- Craft a Paper Bird
- Play a Bird Migration Game
- Eat A Bug Like a Bird, hosted by Bill Clark Bugsperts
- Check your memory with Bird ID Cards
- Listen at Storytime Corner

Tyrrell Park Nature Center (TPNC) is operated by the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), and offers this free program, “Nature Explorers” to help children develop a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world. The Nature Explorers “Come and Go” sessions are FREE and open to the public and will be held at the Tyrrell Park Nature Center, located at 3930 Babe Zaharias Drive in Beaumont, Texas in our renovated, historic CCC-built building in the center of Tyrrell Park.
Families can drop in anytime between 10am – 1pm on this Saturday date - May 11, 2024, to learn interesting facts while having fun, do a “make & take” and explore that month’s nature topic. May's Topic is related to Birds and the 2024 World Migratory Bird Day theme! This Saturday Session will be set up with several stations for an interactive science experiment & nature-based craft that relates to that month’s topic.
Volunteers are available to guide families with hands-on activities. Rotation between stations s is self-paced and designed as “come and go” program. Crafts will be available while supplies last. The Nature, Science, and Arts Interactives are geared primarily towards children ages 5 to 10 years-old; but All are Welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
