The V Shorebird Festival in Ecuador is a three-day event that invites us to celebrate the value of migratory birds and their critical habitats, this year we celebrate the importance of the mangrove and intertidal mud flats for shorebirds that travel between the northern and southern hemisphere, and also the designation of the Canal de Jambelí in the southern Gulf of Guayaquil as a site of international importance for migratory shorebirds. 18 species that nest in Alaska use the Jambeli Channel for wintering and it is a key feeding site on their migratory path. On Friday, May 27, we will hold an exhibition of information stands where national government organizations and non-governmental organizations will present the work we do to investigate and conserve the mangroves in this region. Additionally, we will have a festival of local gastronomy, as well as art and photography. On Saturday, February 28, we will have a family cycle ride through the mangrove and at the end we will award many prizes among the main tours for the families that arrive at the mangrove. And finally, on Monday, May 30, we will carry out a cycle of scientific talks entitled Celebrating migratory shorebirds and their link with the mangrove forests in the Jambelí Channel, Gulf of Guayaquil. Between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. We are waiting for you, you can't miss it!!!
