The Lenape NWR complex is planning a complex-wide Facebook series in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day! We will be hosting a series of videos and activities that you can do from home. Kids of all ages can participate in some fun activities while learning about the importance of migratory birds.
World Migratory Bird Day is May 9, but our events will run every Wednesday through May 27. Kick off is Monday April 27 at noon on the Wallkill River NWR Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/WallkillRiverNWR/
After that, at noon on every Wednesday from 4/29 to 5/20 we will announce new activities and information on migratory birds, as well as winners from the previous week's entries! You can send photos of completed activities for us to post, and submissions from kids under 16 can be entered into a drawing for weekly prizes. All valid youth entries from each week will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize, announced live at noon on 5/27. The grand prize includes a backpack, binoculars, a bird ID book, and so much more!
