The 2019 International Migratory Bird Day Fest will start with an early near-dawn bird walk on the birding trail at Thunder Lake Wildlife Area. There will be a break time for the breakfast. A mist netting and bird banding demonstration will be set up and operational all morning. Visitors will rotate through the demonstration as they get time. 90 minute concurrent events begin at 9:00. They will include: Naturalist lead wildflower hikes, An explanation of the pollinator program and demonstration of a pollinator plot, Birding by paddling in Rice Lake, Birding by pedaling along the 3 Eagle Trail, Birder lead bird walks, … The last session will end around 4:30 pm
For the younger set, there will be: birdhouse / bird feeder painting,
A bird song contest will be open to all.
There will be a break for dinner.
The keynote speaker will be at the Three Lakes Center for the arts at 7:00
There will be an evening nature walk that starts following the keynote speaker, approximately at 9:00 pm at Thunder Lake Wildlife area.
