The Environmental Action Committee of West Marin (EAC) is proud to partner with Amigos Alados to bring FREE youth and family programming to the annual Point Reyes Birding & Nature Festival. Children 3 to 18 accompanied by their families are invited. The festivities will take place on the lawn at 65 Third Street, Point Reyes Station, California, from 10:00 to 2:00.
The Youth & Family Programming will kick off with a special live bird presentation from The Bird Rescue Center of Sonoma County. Docents will bring two Live Bird Ambassadors — (a resident owl and hawk, whose permanent disabilities have made them non-releasable). This is a rare and memorable opportunity to see these wild birds up-close, and learn about our native bird species, their fascinating adaptations and the essential roles they play in our local ecosystems.
Activities include:
- Marsh birding walks with naturalist Juan Carlos Solis
- A bird and wildlife touch table
- Wildlife games
- Coloring and mask-making station
- Marin Country Free Library (check out books and bird backpacks)
- Face Painting
- Barn owl pellet dissection station, courtesy of Pellets, Inc. & Carolina
