Letters were sent out to the various primary schools on island to request a visit to the kindergarten classes to teach students about birds. The department received positive responses from the St Augustine Primary School. We visited St Augustine Primary School on the 24th of May. During these visits, I gave a presentation about birds and ways to conserve them. Students also took part in activities where they put cut-out pieces of a bird together and did some bird watching. The schools also received bird feeders, bird posters and a tree seedling of their choice. Students received prizes such as activity sheets, exercise books, bottles, bird bands, stickers and child temporary bird tattoos. In total 54 students were educated about birds.
