2018 is also the eighth consecutive year that the St. Croix Valley Bird Club (SCVBC) has worked with the City of River Falls to achieve Bird City Wisconsin recognition as a community that works hard to make our home a healthy place for both birds and people to live. As a part of these efforts, SCVBC holds an annual Wings of Spring Bird Festival celebrating World Migratory Bird Day.
The event is free and held on the first Saturday of May, on the grounds of River Falls City Hall, 222 Lewis St.
This year's event will be Saturday, May 5, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This year's activities include something for bird enthusiasts of all ages. Activities include an early bird hike, children's storytime and a live raptor presentation.
New this year, the event will wrap up with folk musicians Fendrick and Peck. Also new this year, will be the chance to paint clay eggs with Jennifer King of Kinni Clayworks. Returning activities will also include live bird banding demonstration, children's crafts and kid bandingMore local business and organizations will have bird-themed displays, activities products and more throughout the weeknd..
