Educating the local people who live by the Hanna wetland

Hana wetland is known as one of the most important habitats for migratory birds in isfahan and is one of the 105 IBA (important bird area)s in Iran. This wetland has been a host to some rare and valuable birds such as white-headed duck and is also very important for wintering migratory birds and breeding migratory birds. On may 11th The members of the AvayeBoom Bird Conservation Society cooperated with DOE of Isfahan province  held an educational event in this area for WMBD 2018. In this event the experts of AvayeBoom went to Islam abad fort village near the Hana wetland to have a face to face dialogue with the local community . They asked the local people about their experiences living nearby these birds. After that AvayeBoom members gave them information about the WMBD and how these birds have benefited them during all these years by controlling the pests, soil fertilization and aesthetics. After that AvayeBoom members visited nomads and had the same discussion with them and at the end they vowed to help to protect these birds and some gifts were given to them as a reminder of this day.
