Bird-watching in protected areas

Environment Department – Natural Resources Conservation Section in Dubai Municipality celebrated the annual World Migratory Bird Day by organizing an exciting bird-watching activity for 180 students at Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary and Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve. Migratory birds play a vital role in connecting people, cultures and nature with their breathtaking journey across borders and require wetlands such as Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary to stop-over. Engaging schools in birding can instill appreciation for migratory birds and environmental responsibility among the younger generations.
