SEAWATCHING MIGRATORY BIRDS

In Madeira, birdwatching is possible all year around with the chance to see resident birds in their different habitats, although during the migratory season different species use the archipelago grounds as a pitstop to rest from their journeys, but also is possible to watch seabirds passing in their migratory routes from specific seawatching spots such as Porto Moniz on north coast of the island and Ponta da Cruz the southernmost point in Madeira.

TO CELEBRATE THIS WORLD DAY, BIRDS & COMPANY INVITE EVERYONE TO JOIN A FREE SESSION OF SEAWATCHING ON SATURDAY MAY 10, FROM 17H30 AT PONTA DA CRUZ, NEAR THE STATUE LOCATED AT THE BEGINNING OF PROMENADE BETWEEN PONTA DA CRUZ AND LIDO GARDENS, ENJOYING THE BEAUTIFUL SUNSET OF MADEIRA.

This is a very accessible and good spot for seawatching and from here you may see Cory’s and Manx Sheawaters, Bulwer’s Petrel and Cory´s Shearwaters. From here you can also see the breeding Common and Roseate Terns in the islets near the coast line below us. Come and celebrate with us!
