Theme: \"Migratory birds in a changing climate\". Climate change has very bad consequences on migratory birds. It causes the loss of essential bird habitats, changes migration patterns and increases the competition for food between migrating birds and residents. The immediate objective of the painting competition among the school students held at Hokarsar wetland, one of the best migratory bird refuges in northern India, on World Migratory Bird Day is to focus the attention of young generation and the people living adjacent to wetlands towards the plight of migratory birds and to highlight the way they are being affected by climate change in the same way as all living things. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr Atul Dullo (IAS), Commissioner / Secretary to Government Forest Department, who deliverd prizes among the best stuident painters.
