The opening of the Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Birds educational station is planned as a special educational event. The aim is to raise public awareness of conservation problems and possible solutions for migratory birds on their flyways. The event is planned together with Kyiv Zoological Garden. The permanent educational station in the Garden will serve visitors through providing information, souvenirs and publications about birds, and organizing educational activities.
Beside the opening ceremony on May 10th-11th, there will be thematic guided tours to the aviaries and the pond, contests for school children, games for younger kids – all under the theme of bird conservation. Mass media will also be informed and invited.
