On the 10th of May the italian zoo Parco Natura Viva is organizing the "Fly Away ... with me" event to inform visitors about the theme of migration. Main character of the day would be the Northen Bald Ibis which, in the last years, is reconquering the italian sky thanks to a Life & Biodiversity Project. Parco Natura Viva is the only italian partner of this project that aim to teach to a flock of birds the migratory route from Austria to Tuscany in Italy. Our visitors could learn about this by playing a snakes and ladders game and children could create their own migrant Ibis. During the day an ornithologist specialized in bird ringing will talk about his work and people could take a look at the tools he use to capture and ring birds. We also talk about the national UIZA (Italian Zoo and Aquaria Association) campaing called "Banditi in Natura" (Bandits in Nature). The aim of this campaign is to sensitize visitors about the theme of poaching all over the world and, with different activities and games, adults and children could learn how to behave responsible when they travel abroad. Our visitors could also understand that poaching exist in our country too and how it is possible to protect animals (both authochtonous and migrant).
