A Través del Ministerio de Ambiente y por la iniciativa del Punto Focal de la Convención de las Especies Migratorias en Ecuador se llevaron a cabo en el país varias actividades, es así que el 11 de mayo se realizó un censo de aves acuáticas en el Refugio de Vida Silvestre Isla Corazón y Fragata donde existe manglar y frecuentas tanto aves residentes como migratorias. Durante la observación en 4 rutas distintas observamos aves migratorias tales como: Tringa favipes,Calidris minutilla, Catoptrophonus semipalmatus, Larus pipixcan, Numenius phaepus entre otras.
Está iniciativa empezó en la isla en el 2010 y se planifica tener a futuro estadisticas de la población de las aves del lugar, el censo se lo realizó con la participación de guardaparques, guías y técnicos del Ministerio del Ambiente.Through the Ministry of Environment and the initiative of the Convention of Migratory Species Focal Point in Ecuador, several activities were carried out, on 11 May, a census of waterfowl on the Refugio de Vida Silvestre Isla Corazón y Fragata was undertaken, where there is a mangrove and both resident and migratory birds occur there. In 4 different routes, we’ll be able to see migratory birds such as Tringa favipes, Calidris minutilla, Catoptrophonus semipalmatus, Larus pipixcan, Numenius phaepus among others.
This initiative began in the island in 2010 and future statistics of the population of local birds are planned; the census was made with the participation of rangers, guides and experts from the Ministry of Environment.
