WMBD 2011 activities in Aceh are being organized by the Cicem Nanggroe Society together with Mipro and the Nusa Creation Community (NCC). The NCC is a local community group which recycles trash by making handcrafted products. Mipro is a student club for the Veterinary Faculty at Syiah Kuala University concerned about conservation issues.
The activities for this event include bird watching with the local community at a migratory bird site and education about the ecological importance of birds. We believe this education will promote awareness within the local community to use land more wisely. In addition, this event will increase the student club's capability to promote wildlife education, especially about migratory birds.
