As the members of Zamin_e_Farda NGO, Ms Fereshte Kiani Nejad and Mrs Akram Moghaddasi, through holding an educational workshaop for 100 primary school students, celebrated WMBD 2019 in Bahman Cultural Center, Tehran, Iran. We translated the powerpoint file from https://www.migratorybirdday.org/resources/ and added Iran migratory birds data as well. We started the workshop presenting a summary of all about migratioan, threats, benefits, flyways and a brief history of migratory bird in the world. Then the MBD.org file was presented in which was reflected the theme of 2019, Protect birds, Be the solution to Plastic Pollution. The children were taking part whole time by asking them questions or sharing their stories to the audience and finally a contest held based on the whole materials that had been mentioned in the workshop.
We have not only been holding some related events so far such as clean up the river sides or wetlands but also celebrate any other world events relate to birds like World Wetland Day in recent years.
We members of Zamin_e_Farda NGO as Environmental Sience educated individuals from University of Tehran, are doing our best to join the world environmental activities to protect our home, our Earth. Our moto is : We for the Earth, the Earth for tomorrow.
Hereby, we are so grateful from environmental department of Tehran Municipality, District 16, to provide some gifts for attendees.
